Caravan shipping cost questions

How much does it cost to ship a caravan to New Zealand?

On our published rate, AUD 80.00 per m³ from Brisbane, Port Kembla or Melbourne to Auckland, with a 50 m³ minimum, plus local charges per unit (AUD 472.50 and NZD 630). A van at the 50 m³ minimum comes to AUD 4,473 plus NZD 630.

Why is there a 50 m³ minimum?

Shipping lines charge RoRo space on volume, and smaller vans still take up a deck slot. Anything under 50 m³ is charged at 50.

Is cartage to the port included for caravans?

No. Car prices include pickup within 50 km of the port, but caravan and motorhome cartage is quoted separately when you book.

Do I pay GST when my caravan arrives in New Zealand?

Usually NZ GST of 15% on the value plus freight and insurance, and any duty. Australian-made vans can be duty-free under ANZCERTA with origin evidence, and people moving to NZ may qualify for a concession.

Can you ship my caravan to Wellington, Christchurch or Nelson?

Yes. Choose the NZ port in the price box. Wellington and Lyttelton are usually reached by transhipment via Auckland; Nelson has direct calls on some sailings.
