Why ship in a container
Protected the whole way
The vehicle is chocked and lashed inside a sealed box, out of the weather and away from other cargo.
Routes RoRo doesn't run
Containers go almost everywhere, including ports with no regular car carrier service.
Share the cost
Two or more vehicles, or a vehicle plus parts, can share a 40 ft container.
Prestige and classic cars
New, high-value and collectable vehicles go by container with us every week.
How a container shipment works
- Get a price. Choose the port, destination and container size in the price box.
- Book it. We confirm the sailing, cartage and paperwork by email before anything is committed.
- Pack and lash. The vehicle is loaded, chocked and lashed, then the container is sealed.
- Clear and ship. We lodge the export declaration and the container sails. You track it to the destination with a private link.
Shipping general cargo instead?
Pallets, crates and full containers of stock, parts or materials go through our general freight service, LCL or FCL, with customs handled at both ends.

Container shipping questions
20 ft or 40 ft?
One car or 4WD usually fits a 20 ft container. A 40 ft takes two or more vehicles, or a vehicle plus parts, and often brings the cost per unit down. A 40 ft high cube suits taller loads.
Is container shipping safer than RoRo?
The vehicle is chocked and lashed inside a sealed box, so it's protected from weather and handling. That's why prestige, new and classic vehicles usually go by container.
Can I ship a car and household goods together?
Sometimes, depending on the destination's rules. Everything must be declared, so tell us what you want to pack before you book.
Which ports do you ship containers from?
Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Fremantle.
Can I get a container price online?
Yes. Our published container routes show a price instantly in the price box on this page.
