Before you ship to Singapore
- Singapore accepts used cars only if they are under 3 years old. Classic and vintage cars have their own scheme.
- Imported cars pay excise duty of 20% of the open market value plus GST, then registration costs with the LTA.
- The car has to meet Singapore's technical and registration requirements, so check it with your Singapore importer before you buy.
- Clean the vehicle inside, outside and underneath before it ships.
General information only, checked on 11 October 2026. Import rules are set by the destination country and change, so confirm them with the receiver's customs agent before you buy or ship. Source: LTA OneMotoring: import a vehicle.
